Francesco Corallini

Francesco Corallini was born on March 4th, 1982. He started practising Aikido in 1985 at the age of 3, under the guidance of his father Paolo Corallini Shihan. That same year, Francesco met Morihiro Saito Sensei for the first time and this meeting would mark his path in Aiki, the same way it did for his father. He received the rank of Shodan from Morihiro Saito Sensei on December 23rd, 1997, Nidan on May 5th,1999 and Sandan on February 20th, 2002. In July 1998, Morihiro Saito Sensei awarded Francesco the Shodan Ken-Jo rank, Nidan in December of the same year and Sandan on May 10th, 2001. On November 1st, 2009, Francesco received Godan Tai-Jutsu and Godan Ken-Jo from Paolo Corallini Shihan.

Francesco has attended over 200 camps, following his father as uke, including two seminars in South Africa. In November 2005 he visited Iwama (Japan) and trained in the Founder’s dojo, as well as in Tokyo, where he also met Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba and attended some of Doshu’s classes. Francesco Corallini is part of the Takemusu Aikido Association Italy and holds many seminars across Italy.

The Takemusu Aikido Association South Africa (TAASA), formally Iwama Ryu™ South Africa, is a free group of black-belted practitioners of Aikido based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Our aim is to promote and spread the traditional teaching method of Morihiro Saito Sensei, direct student of the Founder of Aikido, to all communities in South Africa.
